First, Brian was always on-time or early, which we tried to be also! The car was super comfortable (ask Brian how many naps the girls took) and had ample room. That is the easy to quantify stuff--the really great part and harder to explain was the sheer thrill we felt every morning not being quite sure what the day would bring, except that we knew most of our destinations.

Brian brought history alive, showed us extra venues he picked up from our conversations might be of interest to us, and delighted in showing us and telling us much about Scotland's rich history, British, Norman and other clashes, clan on clan skirmishes, and general Scot culture--the Herriot Schools, hospitals, Jock Gray's terrier, aspirin discovered in Dundee, and yes, Robert Burns (as we will always now appropriately acknowledge familiar works like A Red, Red Rose and Auld Lang Syne). He kindly stopped for waterfalls and, to Molly's great delight, a highland cow and her calf, as well as many others, he shared haggis with the girls, even though he said it wasn't the best, and made sure we had paid attention along the way with a great quiz as we came back toward Edinburgh.

Our days were long and memorable, our stories are exciting, our pictures are fabulous, and listening to the girls share stories has brought me great joy as it is fun to hear their greatest memories and recollections. Truly, the kindness shown us is being shared with everyone! We cannot thank you enough for the attention given us and hope to return to Scotland for more adventures in the future.
